The City of O’Fallon has changed the shelter site for stray animals picked up by the O’Fallon Police Department’s Animal Control. Animals are now held at the Dardenne Animal Medical Center and Shelter, 1092 Callahan Road in Wentzville, Missouri 63385.
Claiming an impounded pet is a two-part process. First, owners must get an impoundment release from the O’Fallon Police Records Department and pay the applicable fines. Otherwise, the animal shelter cannot release the pet. The Records Department is located in the Police Department at O’Fallon Municipal Centre, 100 North Main Street, O’Fallon 63366. Office hours are 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday – Friday.
First offense – $20.00
Second offense – $40.00
Third offense – $60.00
Next, the owner must bring the O’Fallon Police Department release to the Dardenne Animal Medical Center during regular business hours:
Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday, 7 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Tuesday, 7 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Friday, 7 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Saturday, 8 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Sunday – CLOSED
In addition, owners must:
Pay the shelter the applicable daily shelter boarding fees
Show proof of current rabies vaccination or pay to have the animal vaccinated
Obtain a current St. Charles County pet license, if needed
Pay the applicable shelter fee to have a microchip ID inserted in the animal if it doesn’t already have one
